He is titled FIDE Master for chess composition in 2013 and has 17 FIDE Album points up to now. Vlaicu is a World Cup winner (for Fairies) in 2010 and he won 3 Olympic medals – Golden in 2010 and 2012 (for fairies) and Silver in 2012 (for Retros).

         Having studied Romance and Germanic languages at Cambridge and London universities, I worked in education, mainly teaching French, until my retirement in 1996.

Ricardo de Mattos Vieira was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 3rd, 1960. Ricardo holds a Master in Engineering (Water Resources) and degrees in Hydraulic Engineering and Petroleum Engineering. Since 1994 he works in the Central Bank of Brazil.
