(12.10.2020) Here is the award of KoBulChess Helpmates 2019 which is open for claims for 1 month period. Many thanks to the judge Francesco Simoni for his excellent job!

KoBulChess Tourney AWARD – Helpmates 2019

Twenty-two problems took part the tourney. I also evaluated the proposed versions of problems 972, 976 and 1011. The general level was medium, better perhaps for the helpmates in two than the longer ones. I felt in fact that some helpmates in two deserved the higher placements for their complexity and accuracy, but I also appreciated the creativity of the composers for some longer helpmates. There are some problems that lack homogeneity, which I consider an essential feature for the helpmates in 2 and 3 moves, while I believe the diversity in longer helpmates can be tolerated. This of course except for special developments, because each composition makes history in itself.

Anticipations concern the problem 988. There is likeness especially with the problem by C. Jonsson, ?achmatija, Apr 2009 (28/1583).The problem 982 is similar to a problem of the same authors, published in Pat a Mat 107 (7.04.2019).
