I, and few other problemists in Belgrade had a small issue after installing this tool. Right after installation after opening app I saw only few squares of the board. I had to go right away to the side menu to select smaller board size. It looks like default board size is to big for some models. You may consider decreasing default board(square) size.

By the way great tool. Everything is perfect. My only wish is that in next version app remembers last state (position) so that I do not have to reenter position. Usually I use this app while on the bus (going to work using public transportation). At the time I come to my bus stop usually I do not have time to select save problem from menu. If I use back button or home button I have to re-enter position next time. Other than that everything is working very well.

Hi Miodrag. I am happy that you like the app. And thank you for your suggestion. I received few more suggestions and wishes for future improvements, so the programmer will try to include them all in one new version.

HI. Very nice App ... Congratulations to the team. Any plans to maKe the solving engine available offLine? Requiring An internet connection to solve a problem is a practical limitation to the use (eg while travelling on aircrafts, on trains where internet connection is usually bad, etc.)
Ciao and thanks

Having a solving engine that works on the cell phone would be great, but I am afraid you have to ask this question to the programmers of Popeye (or any other solving engine). The ChessComposer app does not solve problems directly on the phone. It allows the user to set up the position on the phone, move the pieces around, but to solve the problem offline, a solving engine for smart phones would be required. As far as I know, all solving engines are made to work on personal computers, using different operating systems. I don't know whether it is possible to re-program Popeye (or another solving program) to work with Android OS, or the code has to be written from scratch. I am very curious to find out the answer to this, although I suspect it is the latter.

Great work! My question is if it's possible to compile also version for Windows 10 Mobile ? I have a Microsoft Lumia 650 phone now.

My second question is: Has somebody an experience with installing of APK applications under Windows 10 Mobile ? I found this website mspoweruser.com/.../, but seems it too complicated (and maybe also dangerous).

Hola Diyan

ChessComposer no me funciona, ni en telefono movil (Galaxy S3) ni en mi tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab S2).

Como puedo solucionarlo?

Hi Pedro,
The app works fine. The problems in the solving function is because the server of Ankona do not work all time correct... We hope Ilja Ketris will find a way to fix it.

Hello, Kostas!
All Android phones have a version of Linux running in the background. To access this, however, the phone has to be rooted. Then, in theory, the code of Popeye could be cross-compiled to run under Android. In fact, I think if the phone has a x86 processor, pre-compiled linux executables would work directly. You would also need one of the new models with multi-core processors and 3-4 GB RAM, if Popeye has to run at PC level speeds.

Hello Dijan,

since the last update to marshmellow 6.0.1 on my samsung J5 some weeks ago, there is no chance to solve the problems for me.
Every times when trying to solve problems there comes the txt "Solving / Please wait!", but it never ends! It runs, and runs, and runs...
I have to close the whole app, to work at least with the diagram, but solving is no longer possible for me!
Can you help me? Is there a problem with ankona again?

Thanks and best wishes!

Hi Klaus,
Unfortunatelly it looks that the server don't work again (even in the website of Ankona). We discussed this with Ilja Ketris some months ago, but he still can not find where is the problem and how to fix this. Hope someday the server problems will be fixed generally.

Hi all. Last month I use the Chess Composer app several times and looks like the server work perfect now and the problems which was 1-2 years ago now are fixed.

Is all ok also when you use it? Should be, so I wishing to all of you good time and enjoy composing your new great chess problems ;)
