Burgas is the biggest city in South-East Bulgaria – hometown and native place of famous poets, composers, singers, actors, producers, painters, photographers and sportsmen.
Joan Ekzarh, one of Bulgarian pre-Renaissance writers wrote that “The Sea is what brings together all that is far away”. This maxim valid for all one is worth and today. The increasing number of the population, the better conditions for rest and business prove the increasing interest to the town.
Municipality of Burgas is bounded by the Black Sea surrounding the large Burgas Bay. Close to the seaside are located the Atanasovsko lake, Pomoriisko lake, Mandrensko and Burgas (Vaia) lake which form the biggest complex of maritime lakes in Bulgaria – unique itself with its extremely rich biodiversity. From here passes “Via Pontica” – one of the main fly ways of the European migratory birds.
One of the biggest airports and the biggest cargo harbor in the country are located in Burgas. Our town is an important centre for the sea tourism with plenty of facilities and transport connections to the resorts on the South Black Sea coast. The resort complex is enriched by the presence of the Burgas Mineral water baths /around 15 km from the town/ which is one of the most ancient Bulgarian balneology centers.
As a Mayor of Burgas Municipality I am eager to keep the good tradition when the guests of the town turn into its friends all their life.

There are many different options for room or apartments type, so I will publish the full list very soon. Basically the price per person in double room with included breakfast, taxes, closing banquet, excursion, souvenirs, chess materials and bulletin will be about 60 Euro per night.
There will be also more 1 or 2 hotels with even lower prices so everyone can choose the best option to him.

But of course this should be voted by the delegates in Bern. As I know the other bid is from Poland and is also very good.

P.S. Shankar, the casino is near by Burgas (about 30 km) in the biggest bulgarian tourist resort - Sunny Beach and I will shown it with pleasure to the participants which want this :-) Who knows, maybe some lucky winner is among us ;-)

Thanks Miodrag! Here is more info about Nesebar: it is an ancient town and one of the major seaside resorts on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, located in Burgas Province. Often referred to as the "Pearl of the Black Sea" and "Bulgaria's Dubrovnik", Nesebar is a rich city-museum defined by more than three millennia of ever-changing history.
Its abundance of historic buildings prompted UNESCO to include Nesebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983.
