Problem 406: Nikola Predrag - Helpmate

(13.06.2014) Nikola Predrag shows a new type of continuous twinning to show AUW by the same white pawn. He demonstrates what I would like to call "Cinderalla promotion" -- the promotion lasts for a limited time -- till the mate (the Prince?) arrives!

Nikola gives an alternative method of exhibiting the solution (which will show the Cinderalla effect clearly !)

AUW by the same WP, pieces change position only by continuous playing.The twinning just degrades the promoted piece(s) back to a pawn after each mate. The series of promotions present a Chameleon sequence Q-S-B-R (Author)

More I look at it, more and more I admire it. What Nikola has demonstrated in this problem is like a fairy condition where promotions have effect for limited number of moves. This is a new advancement in orthodox twinning to produce "fairy-like" effects. Congrats Nikola!

Thanks Seetharaman for explaining the twinning method more simple and clear than I have done!

Recently, Seetharaman and I have discussed about the twinning method where a new twin starts from the mate-position of previous twin. Of course, after some "change" which allows Black to play some legal move(s).
Moving the mating piece or bK to some other square are already known "changes".

Interesting effect of such twinning is an illusion of "continuous play" through all twins, which looks as a single sequence.
Only these unavoidable "changes" spoil the illusion a bit. Instead moving some piece to another square, Black could be "unmated" by transformation of some piece into another. Thus all pieces would continue from the positions which they reached during the play in previous twins.

"Degrading" the promoted officers back to a Pawn-rank is the most natural transformation. Pawn is promoted into officer's rank only temporarily for a particular task. When that task is done, the promotion is cancelled but for a new task the Pawn might be on a new square, ready for a new temporary promotion, if necessary.

Seetharaman's "Cinderella promotion", nicely suggests the transient nature of a "promotion" which ends at "midnight" by returning into the initial state.

Actually, I only tried to construct an example for such twinning method. Two phases were enough for an example but then, the third promotion (wB) looked as achievable.
When the "example" with 3 promotions was achieved, a hypothetic scheme for Rook promotion was not hard to find, but the inherent cooks seemed invincible.

I almost gave up, for after all, I was not even trying to make an original for publication. Still, I was too curious about the possibility of AUW and after more serious thinking, a minor improvement of the scheme has made it more promising.
There were still some technical difficulties, but a good scheme should never be easily abandoned.
I was still not sure whether it is just an example of twinning method or perhaps an original problem.

Therefore, I am very happy that the problem makes such a good impression.
I was not able to evaluate it myself, so I'm indeed honored by the comments.
