Problem 422: Zivko Janevski - Helpmate (Anticipated)

janevski(11.07.2014) Zivko Janevski continues to delight with another brilliant helpmate! Zilahi with dual avoidance, unpins and pin-mates!

Unfortunately the problem were found anticipated. It is excluded from the competition. The author sent his excuses.

422. Zivko Janevski (Macedonia)
Withdrawn because of anticipation
1.Kxc4 Sf3 (1...Sc6? 2.Bb5?) 2.Bb5 Se5#
1.Kxd4 Sa5 (1...Se5 2.Re4?) 2.Re4 Sc6#
A diagonal/orthogonal setting of Zilahi theme with black self-unpin, dual avoidance in W1 move which fails because of mixed interference, self-block and pin-mates. (Author)
Note the interchange of function of the pinned pieces and the pinners also! (Seetharaman)

Good problem, but it is strongly anticipated (see twins 'c' and 'd' in diagram below). Dual avoidance is the same.

Thanks for Vitaly for the information. It is anticipated by a better problem which adds two other nice solutions. It is an irony that it is Pankratiev who anticipates this nice work. Our editor was worried that many of Mr.Pankratiev's problems were getting anticipated :-)

May be it is not just irony, may be it is the sign... :-)

Quoting Vitaly Medintsev:
May be it is not just irony, may be it is the sign... :-)

hm... Obviously Pankratiev is a talented composer and deserves the benefit of doubt.
