Thanks Juraj, the solution is now corrected. Yes, the Winged King is not so used fairy piece but looks interesting. Another good example is problem n.493 (actually there I saw this fairy piece for the first time).

Thanks Juraj. 3.f4 makes things right! (and uses the BTB condition). With BP at f4 the mating move 3...WKf3 is legal as BK after this move like Winged-King and hence WK is not in check! Now I can look at the other 7 solutions!!

Based on the Q1, I have just checked a) position by WinChloe and have found important fact: there is mistake in the solution a). It should be: a) 1.Bb5 WKb4 2.Bf1 WKg5 3.f4 WKf3# Then the answer A1 to Q1 is clear. Yes, it would be illegal self-check. A2: on an empt board Winged King is immobile. A3: Yes, it would be selfcheck. Compare to mating picture in the solution above, it is both ok and quite fairy with 8 potential flights to be guarded e1-e4 and g1-g4, besides direct check from f3 to f2.

Not sure if I understand the movement of Winged King. Q1:For example, in the first solution black moves 3.g3 when white King is on g5. With g3 now in position is not black king already in check? (therefore 3.g3 is illegal check?). Q2: On an empty board (no hurdles) the WK has no moves or does it move like a queen? Q3: Why the mate in the first solution 3...Kf3# is not self-check for WK? Even if the black king moves only like winged King,(due to BTB condition) is it not still checking the white king via hurdle g3?
