Leo: Move as Queen, but capture by hopping over a hurdle to any square beyond.
Camel: a (1,3/3,1) leaper, e.g. a1>b4 or a1>d2
Grasshopper: Hops on Q-lines over any one unit (the hurdle) to the next square beyond.

Nice line play! Key/try remove one Leo from mate line, black closes one line and white has to choose the third Leo for second move!

Excellent idea, the only weakness being the camel d5 used just a hurdle for black.

Not only a hurdle, camel d5 controls the square d2!

Sorry, you wrote about camel d5: it is not only hurdle, but makes the first move (key).

yes you are right, it does makes the key and my gripe was not justified! I wish though that it remainedon d5 and and a reply could have been found for the third black move also. I see however no way of doing it in this scheme.

Wonderful idea transporting the three-line play idea to fairy chess.

Carousel change Z-32-33 is one of my favourite themes. I find this rendering of the theme interesting, but there is a point that probably might be improved. Use of camels does not seem totally justified, while both grasshopper and leo are inherently needed in the scheme (grasshopper closing lines with no other moves possible, leo due to its ability to move to c3 without guarding it). In my view with multiple possible keys/tries by the same leo it might be possible to find the additional variation, as suggested by Seetharaman. Should I try?
