5.BPb3+ Kb1 6. Ka1+ BPa2 7.BPb1=R#

All-in Chess Each player may, on his turn, move one of the opponent's men instead of his own; however, a player may not reverse the move just made by the opponent.

Berolina Pawn: moves diagonally, captures straight ahead and promotes normally.

Nice zig-zag effect and underpromotions! Welcome to Ravishankar, who is one of the few composers composing in this genre. Hope it will be possible to add it to Popeye!. For now, the problem in C-, but I think quite sound!

Unfortunately, as Paul Raican spotted first and confirmed by the author, 1.b8=Q! works as well. Ravi Shankar will submit the correction in due course.

I too failed to spot this. It will be an achievement if Ravishankar can correct it. One possibility is to have regular pawn a7 and have 1.a8R+ as solution.

on b8. It can occur only on a8.

So the corrected version is
1R6/P(p2)6/8/8/8/2K5/k7/8 - #7 b7: Berolina Pawn 1. a8=R+

Another possibility is
8,8,R6,(P2)(p2)6,8,2K5,8, k7 - #5 a5,b5: Berolina Pawns 1. ab6+
But this reduces the effect considerably.
